An Insulation Contractor That Starts With the Cause
Airdrie Insulation insulates homes, garages, shops and commercial buildings from our office at 35 Market Blvd SE in Airdrie. The work is spray foam, blown-in attic insulation, batts and vapour barrier, soundproofing, removal and air sealing, and the commercial side of the trade: continuous insulation, duct wrap and firestopping.
Insulation is one of the few home improvements you cannot see once it is finished, which makes it easy to do badly and hard to check. So we explain the building science in plain English, install to targets you can verify, and show you the work before it is covered.
How We Work
Diagnose before selling
A cold room is a symptom. It might be missing insulation, an air leak, a duct in the wrong place or wet framing. We work out which before recommending anything, and the recommendation follows the cause.
Air first, then insulation
Insulation slows heat moving through a material; it does very little about air moving through gaps. In Airdrie attics and rim joists the air leaks usually matter as much as the depth, so they get sealed first.
A target you can check
Depth markers in the attic, measured foam thickness, sealed poly you can see before the drywall goes up. Where the job suits it, thermal images from before and after. You should not have to take our word for it.
Telling you when not to buy
Every service page on this site has a section on when to choose something else. If an attic is already close to where it should be, or the real problem is ventilation, a roof leak or a bath fan, we say so.
Code as the floor, not the goal
Alberta enforces the National Building Code, 2020 Alberta Edition, and Airdrie sits in climate zone 7A. We work to it, and to the installation standards for the products we use, and we leave the permit decisions to the authority that makes them.
Stopping when it is not ours to do
Vermiculite that may contain asbestos gets tested and handled by abatement specialists, not vacuumed. Knob-and-tube wiring, flue clearances and structural damage go to the right trade first.
What We Do
Who and Where
Most of our work is for homeowners in Airdrie, Balzac, Crossfield, Irricana, Cochrane and north Calgary. We also work as the insulation trade for builders and renovators, on commercial and warehouse buildings, and on farm buildings and acreages in Rocky View County.
